Environmentally friendly VPPII has been adopted by Nippon Shinyaku Co., Ltd. for injectable drugs.
- IL Group
The environmentally friendly “Vial Protect Pack® II” (VPP II) has been adopted for the first time in the pharmaceutical industry for Nippon Shinyaku Co., Ltd.'s (Nippon Shinyaku) injectable drugs, and shipments began in May 2024.
This packaging covers the vial bottles with a protector and shrink-tack label, absorbing shocks during transportation and handling to prevent bottle breakage, drug leakage, foreign matter contamination, and injuries to workers. By thoroughly protecting the entire vial bottle, it serves to ensure the safety and quality of pharmaceuticals.
The material used is Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation's environmentally friendly plastic “DURABIO™.” This material is made from plant-based raw materials, reducing the use of petroleum, and since the plants used as raw materials absorb carbon dioxide during their growth process it also contributes to reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Additionally, it excels in impact resistance and transparency, while being aesthetically appealing, contributing to the improved performance of VPP II.
Nippon Shinyaku is committed to reducing plastic usage as part of its environmental initiatives, and the functional and environmental performance of VPP II led to its adoption.
IL Group' will continue to contribute to the creation of a safe and sustainable society through such products.
